厚生労働省が２００８年に発表した統計によると産まれてくる３０人に１人の子供の片親が外国籍である、今の日本。ハーフドキュメンタリーは、多様化している日本の現代社会の中で「ハーフ」達がどのような生い立ちで、どのような経験を持ち、自己確立しているかを追求する。変わりつつある日本の姿と多文化コミュニティーについての探求だ。

HAFU is the unfolding journey of discovery into the intricacies of mixed-race Japanese and their multicultural experience in modern day Japan.They are forced to explore what it means to be multiracial and multicultural in a nation that once proudly proclaimed itself as the mono-ethnic nation.
